Outline and Lesson Goal

Principles and Applications

I. A Call to Repentance (Hosea 11:12-12:1-6)

  • Principle: God Calls His People to True Repentance.
  • Application: What is the Lord calling you to repent from today? How are you responding?
  • Scripture Reference

31 And Jesus answered and said to them, “It is not those who are well who need a physician, but those who are sick.
32 I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.”
Luke 5:31-32 (NASB)

II. A Commitment to Retribution (Hosea 12:7-14)

  • Principle: God’s Love for His People Should lead to Repentance.
  • Application: How are you acknowledging what God has done for you in the past? How are you responding today to avoid the chastening of the Lord?
  • Scripture Reference

But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:8-9 (NASB)
