Hello, I am José Figueroa! I was born and raised in Puerto Rico but I have been living in the Lone Star State for over 30 years. After spending time in Houston and Austin, I am now living in the DFW area in the city of Frisco.
I came to know and accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior in 1984 during a Friday morning Chapel Service at my High School.
I grew up attending church and Sunday School and I loved every minute of it. I always loved to read the Bible especially the Old Testament stories. Participating in Vacation Bible School (VBS) was a highlight of my childhood.
However, it was not until that day in 1984 when I came to a decision point regarding Jesus. It was then that I recognized I was a great sinner in need of a great Savior. Since that day, I have had hope and purpose which can only be found in the Living Word, Christ Jesus.
My love for God’s Word has only increased since then. I love reading and studying the Bible. I also really enjoy listening to great expository preaching on Podcasts.
In previous years, I have had the privileged opportunity to teach the Bible to both children and adults and that has been my most rewarding experience.
That’s why I have begun this ministry to share what I have learned with you so we can continue growing together in the knowledge and love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Personal
I married my beautiful bride Stacey in March of 2003. We live in Frisco, Texas and we are members of Stonebriar Community Church also in Frisco.
We have one grown son (Brent Jett) who works as a Web and Graphic Designer in the Dallas area.
Professional
After finishing college in Puerto Rico, I moved to Houston, Texas in 1991 to begin my career as a Software Engineer with IBM Federal Systems.
I have over 30 years of experience in Software Engineering, Information Technology (IT), and Project Management. I have had the privilege to work for IBM, Motorola, Southwest Airlines and NTT Data Services.
Currently I work as a Senior Project Manager with Advanced and I have been a certified PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2004.
In July of this year, I obtained a “Certificate of Biblical Studies” from the AWKNG School of Theology. I am now working in completing an M.A. in Biblical Studies from Redemption Seminary.
