Outline and Lesson Goal

Principles and Applications

II. A New Holy City (21:9-21)

  • Principle: God’s People are Destined to Live in a Holy Place Prepared by Him.
  • Application: How can you reflect the glory of God today just like the new Jerusalem will reflect God’s glory in eternity?
  • Scripture Reference

“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.
In My Father’s house are many rooms; if that were not so, I would have told you, because
I am going
there to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I am coming again and will take you to Myself, so that where I am,
there you also will be.
John 14:1-3 (NASB 2020)

III. A New Holy People (21:22-27)

  • Principle: Only God’s Redeemed People will Dwell with Him in His Holy City.
  • Application: What comfort do you receive knowing that you have been redeemed and that your destiny is to live in the new Holy City?
  • Scripture Reference

The one who overcomes will be clothed the same way, in white garments;
and I will not erase his name from the book of life,
and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.
Revelation 3:5 (NASB 2020)
