Justification
Our doctrine for this week: Justification.
- It defined as: “the gracious act of God in forgiving and declaring righteous the sinner who believes in Jesus Christ (Romans 3:24-28).
- Justification is a “Divine, forensic act of God, based on the work of Christ upon the cross, whereby a sinner is pronounced righteous by the imputation of the righteousness of Christ.”(James White, “Justification,” ed. Chad Brand et al., Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary (Nashville, TN: Holman Bible Publishers, 2003), 970.)
- Justification is a legal term. In our justification, God, the just judge, pronounces our sins forgiven and pronounces Christ’s righteousness as ours.
- This is what I like to call the Great Exchange:
- He made Him who knew no sin to be sin in our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. II Corinthians 5:21 (NASB 2020)
- Our salvation occurs in three stages: past, present, future. Justification is the past stage where the penalty for our sins has been paid in full.

- Se define como:“el acto gratuito de Dios de perdonar y declarar justo al pecador que cree en Jesucristo (Romanos 3:24-28).”
- La justificación es un “acto divino y forense de Dios, basado en la obra de Cristo en la cruz, mediante el cual un pecador es declarado justo por la imputación de la justicia de Cristo.” (James White, “Justification,” ed. Chad Brand et al., Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary (Nashville, TN: Holman Bible Publishers, 2003), 970.)
- La justificación es un término legal. En nuestra justificación, Dios, el justo juez, declara perdonados nuestros pecados y proclama que la justicia de Cristo es nuestra. A esto me gusta llamarle el Gran Intercambio:
- “Al que no conoció pecado, le hizo pecado por nosotros, para que fuéramos hechos justicia de Dios en Él.” 2 Corintios 5:21 (LBLA)
- Nuestra salvación ocurre en tres etapas: pasada, presente y futura.
- La justificación es la etapa pasada donde la penalidad por nuestros pecados ha sido pagada completamente.
