God’s Wrath
Our doctrine for this week: God’s Wrath. What is God’s Wrath? Here are a couple of definitions.
God’s wrath is the manifestation of His hatred of sin, wickedness and all who defy Him. (BSF)
God’s wrath reflects his holy desire and action for justice and righteousness to prevail. (BSF)
“The wrath of God” is a scriptural phrase (Rom. 1:18) that describes the settled opposition of God’s nature against evil, His holy displeasure against sinners, and the punishment He justly metes out to them on account of their sins.
Paul calls this punishment “the wrath to come” (1 Thess. 1:10) and describes the time of its execution as “the day of wrath” (Rom. 2:5).
This punishment is denominated “endless punishment” by the Lord Jesus Christ (Matt. 25:31–33, 41, 46), in a place of “hell fire where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched” (Mark 9:47, 48). There the wicked endure endless, conscious suffering (cf. Luke 16:19–31).”

La Ira de Dios

La ira de Dios es la manifestación de Su odio al pecado, la maldad y todos los que Le desafían. (BSF)
La ira de Dios refleja Su santo deseo y acción para que prevalezcan la justicia y la rectitud. (BSF)
“‘La ira de Dios’ es una frase escritural (Rom. 1:18) que describe la oposición arraigada de la naturaleza de Dios contra el mal, Su santa indignación contra los pecadores y el castigo que les impone justamente a causa de sus pecados.
Pablo llama a este castigo “la ira venidera” (1 Tes. 1:10) y describe el momento de su ejecución como “el día de la ira” (Rom. 2:5).
Este castigo es denominado “castigo eterno” por el Señor Jesucristo (Mat. 25:31–33, 41, 46), en un lugar del “fuego del infierno, donde su gusano no muere y el fuego no se apaga” (Mar. 9:47, 48). Allí los malvados soportan un sufrimiento consciente y eterno (cf. Lc. 16:19–31).”
